Part 2 of the Legalweek 2023 Preview: Legal Technology Trends

Legalweek 2023 starts Monday! Yesterday, I covered part 1 of my Legalweek 2023 preview. Here’s part 2 of the Legalweek 2023 preview, which looks at other key sessions and events next week!

Legalweek 2023 will be conducted March 20th thru March 23rd. Once again, it will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. It is a fully in-person event again this year. Here’s the detailed agenda for the conference (on which I generated a word cloud of topics last week).

Yesterday, I touched on a few sessions being hosted by eDiscovery Today educational partners. Here’s part 2 of the Legalweek 2023 preview with three other key educational sessions next week.

9:30 AM – 10:30 AM | Legalweek Judges’ Debate Goes Primetime

How do you rule?  Back by popular demand in the coveted day two keynote spot, the Judges’ Debate will pit some of our nation’s top discovery jurists against one another in oral argument.  Where our honorable judges play litigators and attendees write the orders, the debate will be Legalweek’s most interactive program.  Patrick Oot and the ALM Legalweek research team are pouring over [sic] dockets to locate the “cases that count” to craft our alliterative hypotheticals that will underscore principles of ethics, procedure and evidence. The cases also will be highlighted in the Q&A audience debrief.  Who will have the bragging rights as this year’s champions?  Only you will decide!

Speakers:

  • Hon. Willie J Epps, Jr, United States Magistrate Judge, US District Court for the Western District of Missouri
  • Hon. Andrew Peck, Senior Counsel, DLA Piper

One additional personal note: I’ll be participating in the Technocat podcast with Cat Casey in Reveal’s LIVE Podcast Lounge on the second floor next Tuesday at 3pm! If you’re in the area, stop by and check it out!

That’s it for part 2 of the Legalweek 2023 Preview, look for daily highlights each morning next week!

  1. I know you didn’t write it, but saying “pouring over” respecting the judges’ panel when they (a publishing house) should know to use “poring over” warrants a “Sic” because it makes this stickler sick.

  2. Your keen eye is “sick”, Craig Ball! 😉

Seriously, though, I missed that last night in my half-asleep compiling of that post. Added now.

“Pouring over” the dockets means the dockets are all wet! 😀
