We’re just two weeks away from Legalweek 2023! Here’s the Legalweek 2023 Word Cloud to give you a sense of the primary topics being discussed!
Legalweek 2023 will be conducted March 20th thru March 23rd. Once again, it will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. It is a fully in-person event again this year.
As I like to do for conferences like this, I took this year’s detailed agenda and ran the session titles and descriptions through a word cloud generator. I then reviewed the first cut of it and removed some obvious words from the list: session, technology, law, legal, firm, firms, join, learn, help, using and panel. The Legalweek 2023 Word Cloud shown above is the result I got.
Here are some notable terms that occur frequently:
- I chose to leave the word “data” in this year and it occurs a whopping 89 times – the most of any word in the agenda.
- Not surprisingly, the term “AI” happens the second most – 72 times overall. Add to that “artificial intelligence” occurring 6 more times and it’s easy to guess what the big topic is at this year’s conference! 😉
- I also left in the word “new”, which occurs 48 times. New technologies, new developments, new trends, etc. “future” occurs 26 times.
- “eDiscovery” occurs 33 times. Add in “e-discovery” and just “discovery” and you get 8 and 13 more hits respectively, for a total of 54.
- “management” occurs 17 times, “business” occurs 31 times and “industry” occurs 28 times.
- “teams” and “contract” occur 25 times each (but only two of those “teams” occurrences relate to Microsoft Teams), while “experts” and “process” occur 24 times each.
- “security” occurs 21 times, “cyber” occurs 12 times and “cybersecurity” only 2 times.
- “litigation” occurs 18 times. Interestingly, “support” only occurs 6 times, and only one of those is for the term “litigation support”.
- “privacy” occurs 14 times.
- “chat” (12 times) and “generative” (11 times) further clarify what at least some of the AI discussion is about.
- “cloud” occurs 12 times.
- “governance” occurs 10 times.
Hopefully, the Legalweek 2023 Word Cloud gives you some sense of what’s being covered at this year’s Legalweek – a lot of AI, quite a bit of eDiscovery and less of security, privacy, cloud and governance. I’ll highlight some notable sessions as we get closer to the conference. Stay tuned!
