Legalweek 2025 Word Cloud: Legal Technology Trends

Legalweek 2025 starts tomorrow! Here’s the Legalweek 2025 Word Cloud to give you a sense of the primary topics being discussed!

Legalweek 2025 will be conducted starting tomorrow, March 24th thru Thursday, March 27th. Once again, it will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City.

As I like to do for conferences like this, I took this year’s detailed agenda and ran the session titles and descriptions through a word cloud generator. I then reviewed the first cut of it and removed some obvious words from the list: legal, session, law, discussion, technologies, topics, attendees, new, including, within, technologies and using. The Legalweek 2025 Word Cloud shown above is the result I got.

Here are some notable terms that occur frequently (and not so frequently):

  • With “legal” removed from the agenda (it occurs 305 times), the term “AI” occurs the most of any remaining word in the agenda – a gigantic 250 times overall – 108(!) more than last year! Add to that “artificial intelligence” occurring 5 more times, “GenAI” occurring 13 more times and “GAI” occurring 14 more times and it’s easy to guess what the huge topic is at this year’s conference! The word “generative” occurs 31 times to boot! 😉
  • I chose to leave the word “data” in again this year, and it occurs a whopping 145 times, which is 13 more than last year.
  • “eDiscovery” occurs 20 times, 3 fewer than last year. Add in “e-discovery” and just “discovery” and you get 11 and 19 more hits respectively, for a total of 50, 16 more than last year. 🙂
  • “strategies” occurs 87 times, “insights” occurs 73 times, “management” occurs 62 times, “compliance” occurs 58 times, and “challenges” occurs 56 times.
  • “privacy” occurs 33 times, “security” occurs 16 times, “cyber” occurs 7 times and “cybersecurity” occurs 5 times – all down from last year. 🥺
  • “litigation” occurs 48 times, “support” occurs 21 times, but there are once again no occurrences – zero, zilch, nada! – of the term “litigation support”.
  • “cloud” occurs only 1 time(!), 8 fewer than last year.
  • “governance” occurs 36 times, 7 more than last year! Many of those are again hits for “information governance” or “data governance”! 😀

Hey, I almost forgot, but hopefully, the Legalweek 2025 Word Cloud gives you some sense of what’s being covered at this year’s Legalweek – a ton of AI, more governance, less security and privacy, about the same amount of eDiscovery, almost no cloud and no “litigation support”! I’ll highlight some notable sessions during the conference starting tomorrow. Stay tuned!

So, what do you think?  Are you planning to attend Legalweek 2025? I’ll be there! Please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
