Tom O’Connor is a nationally known consultant, speaker and writer in the field of legal technology. A New England native who graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in 1972 with a BA in Political Science, he later earned a J.D. at an evening law school program while working.

That consulting experience is diverse and includes the BP litigation and several current opioid MDL matters as well as pro bono work with the Office of the Federal Public Defender.

A frequent lecturer about legal technology, Tom also teaches CLE courses nationwide and is a prolific writer. He has several blogs, written hundreds of articles including the 2006 award winning article, “In Katrina’s Wake”, about recovery efforts in the legal community of post Katrina New Orleans in which he participated and has authored three books, most recently, his self-published EDiscovery for Small Cases.

Don Swanson is president of Five Star Legal and Compliance Systems, Inc. Don is a nationally recognized consultant and eDiscovery expert who specializes in Microsoft 365 eDiscovery. Five Star Legal assists attorneys on high-stakes, document intensive matters. Five Star Legal’s clients include large enterprises, multi-national organizations and government agencies. Five Star Legal is a Microsoft 365 eDiscovery partner. Prior to starting the company in 1992, Don has consulted for 1000s of litigation support technology users, developed and managed multi-million document databases, taught litigation support at California and Hawaii university campuses, testified in court and provided affidavits on electronic discovery issues. His company has attracted clients from Washington, DC to California. Don earned an undergraduate business degree from the University of Denver. He received an ABA-Approved paralegal certificate from the University of San Diego and a Masters in Finance from Boston College.
