Cats and Dogs Working Together: E-Discovery and Forensics

Investigations often require the talents of both eDiscovery
and Forensic teams within a company. Many times the objectives of each team may be different or even conflicting. It is important to make sure that teams work together efficiently to make sure investigations or matters are closed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This webinar will cover the following

Forensic Subject Matter Expert

Exterro

Justin Tolman is the Forensic Subject Matter Expert at Exterro. He was formerly the Director of Training for North America at AccessData prior to and after the acquisition by Exterro. Justin has been developing written and video programs and training AccessData clients worldwide for over 7 years. He also consults with clients on investigations and problems related to forensic issues and procedures. In his new role, Justin will be creating content related to forensic processes, technologies, and workflows, including those related to Forensic Toolkit (FTK). He will also interface with forensic professionals industry-wide to produce better tools and workflows that will help investigators be more successful in their work. Prior to working for AccessData, Justin worked as a Computer Forensic Specialist for the state of Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Justin has a Master’s Degree in Cyber Forensics from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology from Brigham Young University—Idaho.

Ed Erkes worked in accounting and finance for 17 years and then changed careers to IT. He worked seven years in server and desktop support, six years in forensics, and was a consultant implementing an enterprise forensic and eDiscovery tool for four years.

For the last nine years, Ed has been the eDiscovery Examiner at a company in Atlanta and at Aflac. He’s had forensic and eDiscovery projects over the years in Asia, South America, Europe, and the Middle East.Ed Erkes is also CISSP and CEDS certified.

Ed gives thanks to Daniel Smyth, Thomas Funk, Chuck Van Acker and Beth Saylor for being great mentors, bosses, and friends along the way because no one can know it all.
