Here’s Another Free Training and Certification Offering, For Those Who Really Need It: eDiscovery Trends

If it’s free, it’s for me!  Hey, didn’t I already say that before?  Anyway, here’s a FREE training and certification offering from EDT – the best part is that it’s geared to those in the legal profession who really need it.  And, again, you can only find it here, on eDiscovery Today (at least for now).  🙂

Let’s face it, if you’ve attended any legal technology conferences recently, you may have noticed a few folks in zebra attire – if you have, you probably saw people from EDT (either that, or somebody with a unique fashion sense).  The zebra theme represents “black & white simplicity – in a complex market, full of over-engineered solutions”.

Keeping with that simplicity theme is their current FREE offer – free courses from the EDT Academy, for their Certified EDT Reviewer (CER) and Certified EDT Analyst (CEA) training and certification programs.  It’s available for the next three months(!), starting today.

However, the FREE offer isn’t just for anybody, it’s for people in the legal and legal technology industries who have lost their job or have lost hours (usually with a corresponding reduction in pay) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  So, this is an offer for legal professionals who could really use a boost with some training and certification and probably have the time to pursue it.  Now is the best time to get it!

If you’re a legal professional that fits the description above, you can click here to apply for these two free courses from EDT.

And, as you can see by the logo at the top, EDT has rolled out its “Digital Credentialing” program.  “Digital credentialing” is another way of saying “badges” that you can add to your email signature to proudly display your EDT certification.  And, yes, (you know I’m gonna say it), you do need those “stinking badges”, despite what they say in the movie Blazing Saddles.  😉  And, you should want them too!

Digital credentials are fast becoming a reliable verification method in the international marketplace of knowledge and skills. EDT has chosen Credly’s Acclaim platform to provide their digital badging system which provides you with an opportunity to easily share your verified achievements. These digital badges describe your accreditations including the topics covered and skills developed. You can easily share your EDT qualifications on LinkedIn and other social media platforms, include your badges in your email signature or embed them in electronic copies of your resume.

Finally, here’s another reminder that I’ll be participating in an ACEDS webinar tomorrow at 1pm ET – Forms of Production: Maximizing Benefit and Managing Costs, with Tom O’Connor and Mike Quartararo.  You can still register for it here.  Please join us!

So, what do you think?  Have you lost your job or had your hours reduced because of COVID-19?  Then, consider taking advantage of this FREE offer!  And, please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.

  1. Thank you. I am on furlough and have seen companies offer free training for those that still have the job with active work email. This is a great help Doug!
