Two Ron Burgundy references in one day! (Sorry, Craig.) 😉 Regardless, the San Diego Paralegal Association (SDPA) continues its Virtual Lunch with Leaders weekly Zoom call lunch discussions on Thursdays with great guests every week! This week, their guests are none other than Mary Mack, CEO and Chief Legal Technologist and Kaylee Walstad, Chief Strategy Officer at EDRM!
As always, the discussion is centered on a specific topic, so this week the topic that Mary and Kaylee will be focusing on is Influence. Knowing Mary and Kaylee, they will have plenty of interesting things to say on that topic or potentially others that they’re asked about. Best of all, the Virtual Lunch isn’t just open to the SDPA, or even people in San Diego – it’s free and open to all. The discussion will be conducted this Thursday at noon PT (3pm ET, 2pm CT, 1pm MT). Click here to register!
Mary and Kaylee’s Virtual Lunch discussion is part of a month of sessions in August sponsored by the San Diego chapter of Women in eDiscovery (WiE). Last week, the speaker was Peg Gianuca from Walt Disney. In the next two weeks, the speakers will be Justine Phillips Sheppard of Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP speaking about Mentorship (August 20) and Lauren Doucette of Sheppard Mullin speaking about Motivation. According to Sheila Grela of Procopio, who has been coordinating these events, WiE is currently recruiting for all positions on all chapter boards. Lauren Doucette, the WiE Southwest Regional Director, discusses why she joined Women in eDiscovery and the logistics around joining your local WiE Chapter Board in a YouTube video here. The Chapter Board Elections will be held in October.
A couple of weeks ago, ICYMI, I was honored to be speaking on the Virtual Lunch, discussing writing where I discussed (among other things) my seven “DO’s” and seven “DON’TS” of writing for legal professionals. It was great fun and I’m sure that the upcoming Virtual Lunch discussions will be terrific as they have some really great speakers lined up!
Also, just a reminder that on Tuesday, August 18th, Onna will conduct the webinar Establishing Data Retention Policies That Comply with CCPA & GDPR at 2pm ET (1pm CT, 11am PT). In this presentation, join Onna and experts from Carnival Cruise Corporation & Ally as they dive into the challenges compliance regulations have created, data policy best practices, and how to proactively create an effective data retention policy that prepares you for GDPR, CCPA and future regulations to come. Might help keep your organization off the list of potential future class-action defendants.
So, what do you think? Are you looking to hear from great speakers on interesting topics? Then, consider registering for the Virtual Lunch! And, please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
