Here’s a Webinar That Will Show You How to Handle Your Data During Mergers and Acquisitions: Information Governance Webinars

Let’s face it, almost all of us have been (or eventually will be) a part of a merger or acquisition at some point in our lives and they’re never easy.  Mergers and acquisitions have always been difficult, but in the age of endless cloud-based tools, these processes have become even more complex. From multiple toolsets to governance processes, to differing retention policies, when two organizations join together, handling all this data gets complicated.  Here’s a webinar to simplify the process of handling and “merging” your data during mergers and acquisitions!

On Tuesday, October 20th, Onna will conduct the webinar Mergers & Acquisitions: How to Handle your Data at 2pm ET (1pm CT, 11am PT).  This 1:1 chat with Lisa Ripley (Director of eDiscovery & Information Governance with Oracle who has led her organization through ten plus years of mergers and acquisitions) will explore the intricacies of data merging, how to prepare for mergers and acquisitions, the stakeholders that need to be involved, and strategies to help establish consistent policies to simplify the entire process.

Among the topics that will be covered are:

  • Making data discoverable
  • How to handle dark data
  • Cross department collaboration
  • Establishing cohesive governance policies

Do you think Oracle knows a little bit about dealing with mergers and acquisitions?  Here is a link to their page of 57(!) acquisitions, just in the past eight years!  And, that’s not even including this recent highly publicized deal.

Speakers include:

  • Lisa Ripley, Director of eDiscovery & Information Governance, Legal Operations at Oracle, who has been with Oracle since 2010 and head of eDiscovery and Information Governance since 2015. As head of eDiscovery, Lisa develops and implements policies, processes and technology to manage eDiscovery activities in support of Oracle’s Legal, Investigative, M&A and Audit teams. As head of Information Governance, Lisa manages a team of professionals focused on developing and advocating information governance processes for implementation across the global enterprise. Prior to Oracle, Lisa was the Global Manager of eDiscovery for Sun Microsystems. Lisa has a cybersecurity, investigative, legal, and technical background. Lisa holds the CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification. Lisa frequently speaks on the topics of eDiscovery, Information Governance, and Cybersecurity.
  • Scott McVeigh, Senior Solutions Consultant at Onna, a Knowledge Integration Platform on a mission to make enterprise information accessible, useful, and private. Onna currently integrates with over 30 of today’s most popular applications and helps companies with Compliance, Information Governance, eDiscovery, and more. Scott has over 15 years of experience in the Information Governance space, and was previously the VP of Service Delivery at Deloitte.

We’re all likely to deal with M&A activities at some point, so this is a unique opportunity to get advice from someone who is truly an “Oracle” on the topic (see what I did there?).  Click here to register.

So, what do you think?  Have you ever struggled to handle diverse data during a merger or acquisition?  If so, consider attending the webinar!  If not, consider attending it anyway as you probably will at some point!  And, please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
