This week’s post for IPRO’s blog is my second weekly post in a row promoting an event that relates to trends in eDiscovery and/or information governance! ARMA InfoCon 2021 is next week! And I’m speaking there!
Of course, when I mentioned ARMA InfoCon 2021 back in August on the IPRO blog, “there” was intended to be an in-person conference at the George R. Brown convention center in my hometown of Houston, but during the height of the Covid Delta variant, ARMA International’s Board of Directors shifted it to a virtual event at the August 26 meeting. The good news is that means you can attend from your own home or office!
The conference starts Sunday with a four-hour Leadership Summit designed to enhance leadership skills and a State of the Association (ARMA) meeting. Three full days of sessions start Monday and conclude Wednesday. The full Agenda is here. There are some terrific sessions at ARMA InfoCon next week, including the one at which I’m speaking! My session is one of two being sponsored by ACEDS, as follows:
Monday, October 18
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM CT: The Legal Intersection of Information Governance and E-Discovery
Practitioners in information governance and e-discovery frequently encounter each other as their roles and responsibilities often overlap. There are process, risk, and cost issues at the intersection of IG and e-discovery. But what about the legal implications? This session will focus on the most interesting and recent court decisions impacting information governance and e-discovery.
Speaking with me will be Kevin M. Clark, Legal Support Services Delivery Manager, Holland & Knight and Hon. Xavier Rodriguez, District Judge, Western District of Texas. I’m excited to be discussing some very interesting cases with Kevin and Judge Rodriguez!
There are several other interesting sessions, some of which I’ve highlighted on my IPRO blog post here, so check that out too. Registration options are available here for both Professional Members and Non-Members/Associate Members which provide different packages for different levels of participation. Hope to see you there, including at our session!
So, what do you think? Are you attending ARMA InfoCon 2021? If so, stop by our session! And please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
