The Two Dirty Words in eDiscovery Today: eDiscovery Best Practices

“Modern attachments” – those are the two dirty words in eDiscovery today, which I discussed with the eDiscovery Chicks on their latest podcast!

The eDiscovery Chicks podcast is hosted by Bree Murphy & Angie Nolet, and it’s a podcast about all types of topics related to eDiscovery and legal tech. As they note on their LinkedIn page:

“Whether you’re a seasoned eDiscovery professional or just spreading your wings, eDiscovery Chicks podcast is a welcoming space for all.”

In their latest episode, titled Two Dirty Words We all Love to Hate: Modern Attachments, Angie and Bree discussed the ins and outs of hyperlinked files/modern attachments. We discussed why the issue exists today, some of the case law that has addressed it (which I covered here and here), and we discussed in detail my five assumptions about the issue of hyperlinked files as modern attachments. We also joked around a bit, addressed my propensity for puns and dad jokes – which Angie seemed to take as a personal challenge 😉 – and discussed where the issue may wind up (at least where I think it will, anyway).

It was a fun discussion and (hopefully) educational as well. Check out the episode here. And follow their LinkedIn page to stay informed about new episodes as they drop! 🙂

So, what do you think? Are the words “modern attachments” the two dirty words in eDiscovery today? Please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
