Digital Forensics Expert Joins Cimplifi as Director of Investigations
James KempVanEe Brings Forensics and Cyber Investigations Experience to Cimplifi
NEW YORK – July 9, 2024 — Cimplifi, an integrated eDiscovery services and contract analytics provider, announced today that James (Jim) KempVanEe has joined as Director of Investigations to lead the forensics and collections practice, driving the strategy and commercial objectives of the business.
KempVanEe is passionate about validating new technologies and frequently serves as a beta tester for emerging platforms. His innovative use of modern technologies and workflows has resulted in several published case studies, showcasing quick and effective resolution of investigations. His methodologies have been widely disseminated across the United States and Canada.

In his new role, KempVanEe will oversee the team of investigators and digital forensics examiners, leading investigations throughout all phases of the forensic data lifecycle. This includes identifying, collecting, analyzing, and preserving digital data used in legal, investigatory, or regulatory situations.

KempVanEe began his career in digital forensics in 1999 while working as a police criminal investigator. He quickly progressed to overseeing digital forensics services for the Tennessee State Attorney General’s Office before transitioning to the private sector, where he assumed the role of VP of Digital Forensics for a private company in Nashville. Before joining Cimplifi, he spearheaded the development of formal digital forensic services for the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Possessing a master’s degree in digital forensics, thousands of hours of specialized training in forensics and cyber investigations, alongside multiple internationally recognized certifications, KempVanEe stands as a state and federally recognized subject matter expert in his field.
