Reimagining Legal Workflows

Reimagining Legal Workflows for the Data-Driven Age: Legal Tech Trends

What happens when more than a dozen legal experts get together to discuss today’s challenges? Reimagining legal workflows happens!

That’s what Lineal did in collaboration with The Cowen Group in developing their newly released whitepaper From Paper Maps to GPS: Reimagining Legal Workflows for the Data-Driven Age. The whitepaper is chock-full of insights from over a dozen legal innovation leaders across top law firms, corporations, and government entities discussing the evolving challenges and potential solutions associated with reimagining rigid and inefficient workflows into dynamic solutions that support streamlined and adaptive operations.

Remember navigating from place to place with paper maps? It’s easy to forget this today, but the journey from paper maps to mobile GPS navigation was not straightforward – it was a bit bumpy with a few detours along the way. Early digital maps were incomplete and often inaccurate, leading to navigation errors, which sometimes led to disaster. Over time, we overcome those challenges to the point that, today, people are so used to using GPS systems for navigation that many don’t even know how to use a paper map!

How can we apply the success of today’s interactive GPS solution to legal workflows? It starts by reimagining legal workflows to what they can be to dynamically adjust to the needs of today – and tomorrow.

The paper discusses obstacles to transitioning to dynamic workflows identified by the team of legal innovation leaders, followed by four success factor themes that kept emerging in discussions with them. The paper is replete with observations – directly from those experts – discussing current challenges, how to address them and what success looks like. The paper does a deep dive into those four success factors and provides a roadmap that any organization can use to start to transform static and inefficient workflows into efficient, adaptive and dynamic workflows for today’s data-driven age! Let the metamorphosis begin!

From a personal note, working on this together with Lineal, The Cowen Group and listening to all the insights from the experts in the trenches was truly an enjoyable experience for me! Check out the paper here and you can see what I mean!

So, what do you think? How is your organization reimagining its legal workflows? Please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
