Women With Initiatives Is What “He Said, She Said”!: Legal Tech Trends

Time for another installment of the “He Said, She Said” podcast! This episode is about women with initiatives that are transforming legal tech and innovation!

Recently, Christy Burke (who is President and Founder of Burke & Company LLC) and I conducted an interview with four thought leaders who have a lot to say about optimizing the people side of AI: Monica Harris, Founder & Principal Consultant, Consult Harris Collective; Melissa Heidrick, Founder of mmData; Bree Murphy, Co-Founder and Co-Host of eDiscovery Chicks Podcast and Monica Winghart, Co-Founder of Velocity Edge Advisors.

We discussed a variety of topics, including: 1) the primary key to their success as a trailblazing woman in the legal tech/innovation space; 2) how each of them overcame their fear and other obstacles to start their initiative; 3) how Monica Harris parlayed a passion for emerging technology into a successful consulting business with Consult Harris Collective; 4) what Melissa Heidrick has learned in the past year and a half about the challenges and victories of starting her own company; 5) how Bree Murphy’s podcast eDiscovery Chicks covers the eDiscovery field in a unique way that reflects her career experience; 6) how Velocity and its novel business model came to be and what Monica Winghart’s plans are for its future; and 7) recommendations from each of them on what to do, what pitfalls to avoid, and how aspiring female entrepreneurs can effectively gain confidence to get started!
