Time for another thought leader interview on eDiscovery Today! This time, I’m interviewing Mandi Ross of Insight Optix!

Mandi is CEO and Managing Director of Insight Optix, where she helps corporate legal teams improve strategy, visibility, and defensibility across discovery and legal hold workflows. With more than 30 years of eDiscovery experience, she has worked with corporate legal departments, outside counsel, and litigation teams to address complex discovery challenges while reducing cost and risk.

Driven by a vision to reduce unnecessary discovery costs and mitigate legal risk, Mandi led the development of Evidence Optix^®, a twice-patented SaaS platform that helps legal teams scope discovery earlier and make more informed strategic decisions, as well as Legal Hold Evolve^™, a modern legal hold solution designed to strengthen compliance and streamline communications. Mandi heads up not one, but two companies as she is also the Founder and CEO of Prism Litigation Technology, an eDiscovery advisory firm established in 1997, and is a nationally recognized speaker and educator on technology-enabled discovery practices.

Among the topics I covered with Mandi: challenges that organizations are facing today with discovery of so many different modern data sources, factors that are driving the need for the shift to the left of the EDRM model, why traditional “collect everything, review later” models are still so persistent despite growing cost pressures, and the risks those models create for organizations, and the biggest gap between how legal teams should operate and alignment with the discovery tools that exist today
