CHICAGO and OSLO, Norway — August 24, 2026 — Newcode, the configurable AI harness purpose-built to make law firms AI-native, today announced a Series A funding round led by OnDean Forward with significant participation from The LegalTech Fund, alongside Antiportfolio Ventures, Relativity investment arm Rel Labs, and existing investors. The round brings total 2026 capital raised to $20 million.
Law firms are becoming more sophisticated in their use of AI. Those furthest along in the AI journey are moving beyond standalone AI assistants toward AI-native operating models that securely connect institutional knowledge, workflows, systems of record, and professional judgment into their own internal intelligence layer. This allows them to bring custom agentic power to their most complex, time-sensitive, and high-volume client workflows – automating tasks that are measured in weeks, not days or hours.
Newcode’s core belief is that law firms should be in control of their AI capabilities, allowing them to build on their strengths and deepen their competitive advantages.
“The AI revolution is ultimately a great thing for law firms,” said Maged Helmy, founder and CEO of Newcode. “But to transform to AI-native, the legal market needs control and flexibility. Our mission is to help firms build AI capabilities that are truly their own.”
Newcode delivers on this mission by giving law firms the power to:
- Connect. With 700+ MCP connections and a comprehensive API, firms can link to any data source.
- Contextualize. Newcode has built a proprietary agentic retrieval system that contextualizes information across the firm and its documents, continuously becoming more intelligent as the firm acquires and adds new information.
- Create. Users can create unique work product for their customers by building sophisticated workflows across data sources, or by accessing Newcode through a frontier model.
- Control. Firms gain granular permissions, cloud or local deployment options, and the ability to use whatever LLM and interface works for them.
“We’re excited to work with Maged and the team at Newcode,” said Andrew Sieja, Relativity Founder and Principal Partner at OnDean Forward. “The tech gives law firms a path to own their AI stack and helps them accelerate the use of AI across the practice and business of law.”
Newcode’s growth has accelerated sharply in 2026. The company now serves more than 60 law firms and government agencies across Europe and the United States. Annual recurring revenue has more than tripled in the last 12 months, with new customers added across Europe, the AmLaw 200, a growing base of U.S. deployments, and The Bar of Ireland, which provides support to more than 2,150 barristers across the country.
Unprecedented amounts of capital are flowing into AI solutions for the legal market from a wide variety of sources. Newcode deliberately assembled a group of investors and advisors with a narrow focus on the legal market and with decades of experience building businesses, leading top firms, and deploying enterprise tech to law firms, government agencies, and companies in heavily regulated industries.
“We spend a lot of time with law firm leaders and heads of in-house legal teams,” said Zach Posner, Managing Partner at The LegalTech Fund. “They are consistent on one point: they want AI platforms that adapt to how they operate, not platforms that force them to adapt. Newcode has proven it can meet that demand, and we’re excited to support their continued growth.”
“Rel Labs is all about investing in builders who are harnessing the power of AI to reimagine how legal work gets done,” said Phil Saunders, CEO of Relativity. “We believe in what Newcode has built and this investment is our way of enabling them to bring AI capabilities closer to the legal community. We look forward to supporting them on this next step of their journey.”
The investment will support Newcode’s U.S. expansion, including customer support, product development, go-to-market, and strategic partnerships across the AmLaw 200 and broader legal ecosystem.
Congrats again to Newcode for the announcement that Newcode raises Series A to bring total funding to $20M as it expands in the US! Sounds like a promising future! 😉
