Michael Sarich is the former Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Service, where he led a historic transformation of one of the largest FOIA programs in the federal government. Under his leadership, VA achieved a 99.6% customer satisfaction rate, reduced its FOIA backlog by over 90%, and pioneered the enterprise-wide adoption of SaaS tools to drive efficiency and accountability. A 2025 Fed100 award recipient for innovation in federal IT, Michael is nationally recognized for integrating automation, and operational strategy to modernize government transparency. He now advises public and private organizations on FOIA, digital transformation, and building high-performance compliance ecosystems.
