ILTACON 2021 Logistics, Here’s What to Expect: eDiscovery Trends

Day 4 of internet woes, but I get by with a little help from my friends (and my mother-in-law Hilda)!  Yesterday, ILTA conducted a “Know Before You Go” event regarding ILTACON 2021 logistics for press at the show happening in a little over a week.  So, here’s what to expect!

Proof of Vaccination: As I noted back in June, this year’s conference will be a hybrid of in-person and online events, but those attending in person will have to be vaccinated and will have to provide proof of vaccination.  The deadline for emailing in a copy of your vaccination card was yesterday, but those who are attending and need to provide proof can still bring their vaccination card to ILTACON and show it for verification prior to receiving their ILTACON badge (in the VACCINATION VERIFICATION LINE near registration).  Digital images are accepted as proof.

ILTACON App: Attendees will receive an email with specifics to log into the event site, Boomset, to access the ILTACON digital app.

Hotel Registration: Attendees staying at the Mandalay Bay where the conference is being held should also download the MGM Resorts app for check-in to the hotel.  If you’re a big-time gambler, you probably already have it.  😉  And, hey, the hotel reportedly has a “hospital-grade (or better) air ventilation system circulating up to 100% outside fresh air and supplies up to 12 air exchanges an hour”.  I’m not making this up.

Badges: Yes, you do need those stinkin’ badges and you can’t share them this year like in past years – because they will have pictures on them!  Only badged attendees will be allowed into the ILTACON conference space.

Masks: You’ll also need those, per the State of Nevada, and 3-foot social distancing is recommended.

Want a Hug or a Handshake?: iManage will provide green wrist bands for those who are comfortable with hugs and handshakes, yellow for those who want you to ask and red for those who want you to keep your distance.  I’m not making this up either.  Wonder how many people will choose the green wrist bands?  Hmmm.

Lighting Round Stats: Here are a few other notable stats about ILTACON 2021 logistics for this year’s conference:

  • 60+ educational sessions over 15 AREAS of focus
  • 175+ amazing speakers (and speakers are still being selected!)
  • There will be approximately 900 in-person attendees and another 665 or so virtual attendees
  • There won’t be the traditional Monday exhibit hall event, but there will be a closing reception where pajama bottoms are encouraged to reflect the business on the top, party on the bottom world we all live in these days!

These are just a few of the ILTACON 2021 logistics to be aware of for the week after next.  Next week, I’ll provide a preview of the conference in terms of notable sessions to attend (including one I’m moderating!) and I will be there to cover the conference itself!

So, what do you think?  What do you think about this year’s ILTACON 2021 logistics?  Are you attending?  Please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.

  1. So, what? Steer clear of green wristbands at the pajama bottoms party? Is that a Bates stamp in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
