Here’s a “3-D” Presentation on Privacy and Cybersecurity from the Paralegal Section of BASF to Check Out!: Cybersecurity Webinars

It’s web event day! And October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!  With that in mind, here’s a data privacy and cybersecurity event being conducted by the Paralegal Section of The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) next week.  And it’s being presented by three “D”s, including me!

The event is Paralegal Conference 2021: CA CCPA and Cybersecurity and it will be conducted Friday, October 8th from 1:30 to 5:00pm PT.  There are two terrific CLE accredited sessions interspersed with networking opportunities hosted by the sponsors of the event.  The agenda is as follows:

1:30pm-2:30pm PT: PANEL I: 2018 California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)/ 2020 California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)/ 2016 United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation. This panel will be presented by Darius Bennett, J.D., Project Manager-Digital Support at Ricoh USA.  Darius is a sixteen-year licensed attorney, with twenty years of practical legal experience, has written a bi-weekly blog for EDRM on good mental health and wholeness as a professional since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and is an EDRM Global Advisory Council member.  Knowing Darius, he will have some terrific insights into the ever-changing data privacy landscape for California, the US and Europe!

2:30pm-3:00pm PT: Networking Opportunity hosted by the event Sponsors

3:00pm-4:00pm PT: PANEL II: Ten Recent Cybersecurity and Data Breach Trends You Need to Know. This panel will be presented by Debbie Reynolds and me! Debbie (“The Data Diva”), is the founder, chief executive officer, and chief data privacy officer for Debbie Reynolds Consulting LLC. She is also an internationally published author, highly sought speaker, and top media presence about global Data Privacy, Data Protection, and Emerging Technology issues.  As this is my blog, you can see my bio at the bottom of this post.  😉  Debbie and I will discuss ten recent cybersecurity and data breach trends, and the best practices needed to put your organization in the best position to protect against your own data breach!

Hmmm, maybe I need my own nickname?  “The Blustery Blogger”?  “The Wry Writer”?  I’ll have to work on that!

4:00pm-5:00pm PT: Networking Opportunity

Why is it a “3-D” event?  Because it’s being presented by Darius, Debbie and Doug!  🙂

You can register here for the event and the cost ranges from FREE for BASF Law Students to $35 for Paralegal Section members to $45 for BASF members to $60 for non-members.  Terrific bargain for a Friday afternoon event that combines CLE accredited education and networking!  You may be singing I Left My Heart in San Francisco, but you won’t be moaning that you left your data there!

So, what do you think?  Are you attending this terrific event by the Paralegal section of the BASF?  Please share any comments you might have or if you’d like to know more about a particular topic.
