Here’s thought leader interview on eDiscovery Today, where I’m interviewing Marla Crawford and Charles Post of Cimplifi at the CLOC conference!
Marla Crawford brings over 35 years’ expertise to her role as general counsel at Cimplifi. She is a respected attorney, strategic advisor, and thought leader who speaks regularly on legal technology, electronic discovery, and information governance issues. Marla spent 22 years practicing law at the prestigious international firm, Jones Day, specializing in the discovery phase of litigation. She also served as associate general counsel for Goldman Sachs for 11 years where she led the firm’s global eDiscovery practice and focused on complex commercial and securities litigation and regulatory investigations. And she recently won a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Legalweek!
Charles Post is executive vice president at Cimplifi where he leads their practice in next generation CALM, which stands for contract analytics and lifecycle management. For over a decade, Charles has been a legal tech authority on utilizing emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to tackle the legal industry’s most complex contract data issues. At Cimplifi, Charles is leveraging a robust eDiscovery infrastructure and capabilities to provide clients with a first-of-its kind contract analytics and lifecycle management offering. He provides revolutionary contract solutions by pioneering the convergence of eDiscovery and contract analytics. Previously, Charles built and led the document intelligence practice at JDX Consulting, and prior to that he was in-house managing counsel at BNY Mellon where he led one of the most complex contract analytics programs to-date.
Since we were at the CLOC conference, I asked questions related to legal operations to both Marla and Charles. They included the hot topics they’re seeing in the legal ops space right now, how Cimplifi is using AI in the legal ops space, the most obvious use cases of generative AI and anything else they’re particularly excited about that might change the future of legal ops. The audio of the interview is below – thanks to CLOC for the use of their CLOC Talk Studio for the interview!
